Rubbish Removal Gold Coast

Clear Out provides rubbish removal in Gold Coast. We do the rubbish and junk removal ourselves, with our own crew and our own truck, so when you book rubbish removal in Gold Coast the people who answer the phone are the people who turn up. We come to your home or business in Gold Coast, look at what needs to go, and give you a fixed price before we lift a thing. Then we carry everything out from wherever it sits, whether that's the garage, the back yard, an upstairs room or a unit, load it onto the truck and sweep up behind us. For rubbish removal in Gold Coast, that usually means bagged household rubbish, cardboard and packaging and broken furniture and homewares. Locals also call Clear Out about household junk, green waste and end of lease loads. Once the load is on board, we sort it. Usable goods go to charity, metal, cardboard and green waste go to recycling, and only what's left goes to landfill. If you need rubbish removal in Gold Coast, call Clear Out and we'll often be there the same day.

Rubbish Removal Gold Coast case study

Written by Chris Smith · Illustrative case study

The situation

The call came in on a Tuesday morning from a woman who had been putting off a clean-up for the better part of two years. She'd finally sold her caravan, and the space it left behind at a property in Gold Coast exposed everything that had been stacked around it: mixed general waste, bagged household rubbish and cardboard and packaging.

Why the customer needed help

They'd rung a couple of other outfits and got vague answers about price. I told them I'd come and look, give them a figure on the spot, and they could decide from there.

What was at the property

By my count there were mixed general waste, bagged household rubbish and cardboard and packaging, along with the usual loose odds and ends that build up around a job like this. It's typical of what we see from landlords and agents between tenancies.

Working in Gold Coast

Gold Coast is a city of beachside towers, canal homes, family suburbs and hinterland acreage. We run trucks across the whole Gold Coast every day, from Coolangatta to Coomera and out to the hinterland, so wherever you are there is usually a crew nearby. We bring the right truck for the street, from tight unit driveways to wide acreage tracks.

The initial assessment

I did my usual lap. I check what's heavy, what's sharp, what's reusable and what might be hiding something underneath. A redback in the bottom of a pile isn't unusual on the Coast, so gloves and a torch come out before anyone reaches in.

How the job was planned

The plan was simple: protect the route, clear a path, then work from the far end back towards the truck so we never had to climb over what was left.

Preparation

We put drop sheets down through the hallway and taped corner guards on the door frames. It takes ten minutes and saves arguments about scuff marks.

Step 1

Step one was triage. We pulled everything into three groups: donate, recycle and dispose. It takes longer at the start, but it means the truck gets loaded in the right order and nothing good goes to landfill.

Step 2

Step two was the heavy lifting. Anything over about forty kilos went on the trolley or got a two-person lift with straps. No hero stuff. A strained back on the first job of the day ruins the week.

Step 3

Step three was loading the donation pile carefully, strapping it separately at the front of the tray so it would arrive at the charity in one piece.

Removal, sorting and loading

I'm fussy about the load. A well-packed truck means one trip instead of two, and that's the difference between a fair price and an inflated one. We netted the top before we drove off.

From the truck it went to a licensed transfer station, where recyclables were dropped off separately, and anything usable went to a local op shop before the tip run.

Challenges we ran into

The pile had been sitting long enough that the bottom layer was wet and partly rotted, and a couple of boxes fell apart the moment we lifted them.

How we handled them

We shovelled the wet layer onto a tarp and dragged it to the truck in sections. Slower, but no mess through the yard.

Completion and final result

When the last load was strapped down, the space was empty and swept. The customer walked through with me, signed off, and paid the price we'd agreed at the start, not a dollar more.

What I learned

I came away reminded that a fixed price agreed up front takes all the stress out of the day, for them and for us. Nobody's watching the clock or arguing at the end.
