The last thing before the final inspection in Nerang

The story

I found Clear Out by searching on my phone while standing in the middle of the mess in Nerang. I was moving out of a share house, and somehow I was the last one left holding the bag, literally. Everyone else had cleared their rooms and left the shared stuff.

A broken outdoor setting, a stack of boxes, a busted vacuum, an old microwave and garden bags of general rubbish.

Nerang is a hinterland gateway with acreage blocks, older homes and industrial estates, and getting things out isn't always simple. Long gravel driveways are no issue for our tippers.

I half expected to be put on hold, but it was the bloke who'd actually be doing the job. He asked about stairs and parking, which made me think he'd done this a few times.

Two of them turned up right on time in a tipper truck. Before they lifted anything, they walked the route from the pile to the truck and pointed out a couple of spots where they'd put down protection.

The bottles went in the container refund scheme. They said they'd drop them off and knock the refund off the price, which was a nice touch.

When they were done, they swept up and walked me around to check. I paid the price we'd agreed, and that was it. The whole thing took less time than I'd spent worrying about it.

My advice to anyone in the same situation is not to wait as long as I did. The relief was worth more than the cost.
