Getting my bond back in Biggera Waters
Courtney Murphy · End of Lease Rubbish Removal · Biggera Waters
The story
I found Clear Out by searching on my phone while standing in the middle of the mess in Biggera Waters. Our lease ended on a Friday, and the final inspection was booked for the Monday. The cleaner was coming Saturday, but we still had a pile of rubbish in the carport.
A dining table nobody wanted, three broken chairs, a TV cabinet, old mattresses, bags of clothes and a heap of beer bottles that someone had been 'saving' for recycling.
Biggera Waters is a waterfront pocket of canal homes, retirement villages and low-rise units, and getting things out isn't always simple. Village driveways are tight, so we hand-carry to the truck where required.
I sent a couple of photos and got a call back within the hour. They gave me a rough idea on the phone but said they'd confirm a fixed price when they saw it in person.
They parked so the back of the truck lined up with the side gate, put a drop sheet down at the door and asked me to show them anything that was staying.
They were in and out in forty minutes, which meant the cleaner had a clear carport to pressure wash on Saturday.
By the time I'd made them a coffee, it was nearly finished. The price didn't change, and they even took a couple of extra bits I'd forgotten about without charging more.
I'd tried to do it myself twice before. Next time I'm just ringing straight away.
