Goodbye to the spa in Oxenford
Leanne Baker · Spa & Hot Tub Removal · Oxenford
The story
We've been in Oxenford for a while now, and this was the first time I'd paid someone to take rubbish away. We were putting in a vegetable garden where the old spa sat, and it had to go first. It was a four-seater, dead for years.
It was sitting on the deck, about a metre off the ground, with a set of stairs as the only way down. The cover was mouldy and the cabinet was rotting.
Oxenford is a family and light-industrial mix near the northern motorway exits, and getting things out isn't always simple. Easy motorway access keeps same day bookings realistic.
I sent a couple of photos and got a call back within the hour. They gave me a rough idea on the phone but said they'd confirm a fixed price when they saw it in person.
They parked so the back of the truck lined up with the side gate, put a drop sheet down at the door and asked me to show them anything that was staying.
They took two fence panels off, slid it out on rollers and put the panels back up before they left. It looked like the spa had never been there.
By the time I'd made them a coffee, it was nearly finished. The price didn't change, and they even took a couple of extra bits I'd forgotten about without charging more.
I'd tried to do it myself twice before. Next time I'm just ringing straight away.
